As a leading manufacturer of one of today's most accessible, comfortable and time efficient modes of mobility - cars, Fiat is committed to the cause of providing mobility for all.
The services provided by the Autonomy Programme have been designed to make driving and travelling more comfortable and safer in any condition. Autonomy places Fiat's experience at the disposal of customers and applies special financial conditions for customers.
Launched in 1994, Fiat's AUTONOMY PROGRAMME is a special project whose aim is to develop equipment that can be fitted into cars to enable easier access, greater comfort and independence for physically disabled drivers and passengers.
Through its World Wide AUTONOMY PROGRAMME, Fiat has designed devices for both private and light commercial vehicles, such as anatomic cushions, revolving and sliding seats and special fittings for wheelchairs. The Fiat Scudo, Ducato and Doblo MPV, for example, can be adapted to house a wheelchair behind the front seats.
Fiat Auto has also introduced a driving simulator that measures a driver's residual force and ability to react to visual and acoustic stimuli.
